CIOB Scotland Awards shortlist revealed
The CIOB Scotland Awards winners will be revealed on 16 September

A total of 19 finalists have made the shortlist across seven categories in CIOB Scotland’s first-ever awards.

Winners will be revealed on Friday 16 September at the Doubletree by Hilton Glasgow.

  • David Lannigan – senior operations manager, Morgan Sindall
  • Gary Holmes – regional managing director, Graham’s Building North Division
  • Gregor Forsyth – project manager, Morgan Sindall, Waterfront Place, Dundee
  • George Wilson – project manager, Muir Construction, Kirk Lane Nursing Home, Livingston
  • Andrew Deacon – project manager, Linear Design & Construct, South Ayrshire Council Office Rationalisation project for hub South West Scotland and South Ayrshire Council

Site Manager of the Year Award

  • Bob Swindle – site manager, MPMH Construction, Ward2a Cancer Treatment Centre, QEU Hospital
  • Scott MacNicol – senior site manager, Barratt David Wilson North Scotland, Riverside Quarter, Aberdeen
  • Bernie MacLaughlin – project manager, Great Tapestry of Scotland, Galashiels

Subcontractor of the Year Award

  • Steven Park – director, Park Plumbing & Heating, private & Social new build housing developments, Perth
  • Olaitan Akinyele – project coordinator, Heriot-Watt University, AFBE-UK Scotland

Construction Innovation Leader

  • Morven Tipping – Design manager, Morgan Sindall, Albany Park scheme for the University of St Andrews
  • Martin McGough – head of modern methods of construction, Balfour Beatty, Institute of Regeneration and Repair, Edinburgh
  • John Paterson – senior design manager, Morgan Sindall, Digital Construction Development, Renton Campus

Graduate of the Year Award

  • Shams Rahimi – technical planner, Grahams Central Quay BTR, Glasgow
  • Jos Mackie – site engineer, Grahams Construction, Submarine Training Facility, HMNB
  • Edward Barclay – quantity surveyor, Linear Design and Construct, All Saints & Rochsolloch Primary Schools Refurbishment, Lanarkshire

Trailblazer of the Year Award

  • Ryan McLeish – Macform, private newbuild, Strathblane
