Kimberly Cornett, PE, CFM, F.ASCE, has joined planning, engineering and program management firm Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN) as the Regional Stormwater Manager. Based in the Fort Worth office, Cornett will be managing stormwater initiatives to improve drainage and flood control. A Certified Floodplain Manager, Cornett will also be providing solutions to lessen soil erosion and strengthen floodplain management on projects across Texas.
With extensive experience in managing stormwater projects, Cornett will support infrastructure project pursuits for LAN. Matt Manges, LAN Vice President and Practice Leader for Stormwater, says, “Kimberly’s considerable knowledge and vast stormwater experience, especially in North Texas, is adding depth to our strong municipal team. We’re expanding our practice statewide and she is an integral part of that.”
Manges adds, “Kimberly will be involved in our projects at all levels – from initial planning and feasibility studies to managing the engineering and construction. She’s part of the team that’s managing stormwater and reducing flood risk in the communities we serve.”
A member of the Texas Floodplain Management Association, Cornett has a master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Water Resources from the University of Texas at San Antonio. A Professional Engineer, Cornett is licensed in Texas and New York.
A member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Cornett is the President-Elect of the ASCE Texas Section for the 2022-2023 term. She was previously honored by the ASCE with the Professional Service Award.
